Buy Atenolol

Atenolol, the generic drug name of a high blood pressure drug, is also marketed under the brand names of Tenormin and Senormin. It is a beta-blocker that helps control high blood pressure in many patients. It works by slowing the heart rate and relaxing the blood vessels, which allows blood to flow easier. However, because of the increased ease of blood flow, patients taking Atenolol should notify medical professionals if they will be undergoing surgery, including dental surgery. They may need to stop taking Atenolol one to two weeks prior to the surgery to reduce the risk of bleeding during the medical procedure.

Atenolol was originally developed to treat patients with an abnormally fast heart rhythm, but one of the side effects was found to be a lowering of blood pressure. Today, Atenolol’s use is primarily to lower blood pressure, but it is also prescribed to treat angina (chest pain), as a post-heart attack treatment and occasionally as a treatment for or prevention of migraine headaches. Atenolol is a tablet that is taken by mouth, usually once or twice per day. It can take one to two weeks for Atenolol to be fully effective, but patients should not stop taking it if they do not feel better quickly. Talk to your doctor, but he or she will probably request that you allow enough time for the drug to build up in your system. Once you do begin feeling better, do not stop taking Atenolol without talking to your doctor.

You should talk to your doctor about all other medications, both prescription and over-the-counter varieties, that you are taking. This includes nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbal products. Some of these can react with Atenolol and have unwanted results or even make Atenolol less effective. If you take any calcium channel blockers, anti-inflammatory NSAIDs or clonidine (sold under the brand name Catapres) or if you have require an injectable epinephrine, your doctor should be aware of this before prescribing Atenolol.

Atenolol has generally mild side effects, which may include dizziness, tiredness or drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea or mild depressions. A small percentage of people have reported more serious side effects including shortness of breath, fainting, swelling of the extremities or unusual weight gain. If you experience one of these or another side effect when taking Atenolol, report it to your doctor immediately.

Many doctors ask their patients to follow an exercise, weight control and diet modification plan in addition to taking Atenolol. Many doctors also ask their patients to restrict their salt intake as a means of assisting with lowering blood pressure. Follow any plan that your doctor outlines closely, but do not stop taking Atenolol after you have modified your habits. Even with lower salt, lower weight and more exercise, many patients need to maintain use of a blood pressure drug for the rest of their lives.

Atenolol is a highly effective drug, but as with all other prescription medications, it should be used only under the direction and observation of a physician. Talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks of using this drug as it relates to your particular medical situation if your physician is considering prescribing Atenolol.
