Antidepressants may improve memory and relieve depression in brain injury patients

Mental illnesses such as schizophrenia can have devastating effects on an individual's life. Fortunately, there are many medications available to treat these conditions, and those who buy Zyprexa may be able to alleviate their symptoms.
According to neurosurgeons at the University of Rochester Medical Center, the use of antidepressants may not only help people manage their mental well-being, but can also stimulate the creation and survival of new brain cells after a head injury.
Lead author Jason Huang and his colleagues noticed that patients who had brain injuries experienced less depression and better memory after taking antidepressants, compared to those who had been injured but were not on such medications.
"We saw these patients improving in multiple ways - their depression was improved, but so were their memory and cognitive functioning," Huang explained. "Our goal is to learn more about that mechanism and help patients recover even more brain function than they can now, even with extensive work and rehabilitation."
Individuals who purchase antidepressants from a Canadian internet pharmacy may be able to save a significant amount of money on these products.
