Behavioral therapy can relieve the pain of migraines, researchers say

The high cost of prescription medications in the U.S. has taken a toll on many patients' wallets, but people are finding relief by purchasing products from a Canadian internet pharmacy. These resources can be a great way to find both generic and brand-name drugs at reasonable prices, whether an individual needs a cancer treatment or a painkiller for their migraines.
There may be another cost-effective way to address chronic headaches in addition to buying cheap medication from Canada. According to lead author Donald Penzien and his research team from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, behavioral approaches such as relaxation training and hypnosis can relieve the sometimes debilitating pain and discomfort of migraines.
"The cost of behavioral treatment is front-loaded. You go to a number of treatment sessions, but then that's it," Penzien explained. "And the benefits last for years."
The findings were published in the journal Headache and reported that after a period of six months, patients who had undergone behavioral treatment had results to those of participants undergoing pharmacologic treatments costing less than 50 cents a day.
