Patients who have type 2 diabetes can better control their blood glucose levels when they buy Actos. Purchasing this medication from a Canadian online pharmacy can help them find great prices and save a significant amount of money.
A study presented at the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy reported that diabetics who adhere to their medication regimen lowered their risk of hospitalization by as much as one-third, compared to patients who did not continue taking their prescribed treatments. Medication adherence was also linked to substantial cost savings.
"Our research found that adherent individuals had $1,010 lower medical costs during the year," said Patrick Gleason, director of clinical outcomes assessment at Prime Therapeutics. "Besides the medical cost savings, patients who adhere to their medications are likely to have improved health and increased quality of life."
However, the study revealed that as many as 25 percent of diabetics do not stick to their medication recommendations. As a result, the researchers urged members of the medical community to find ways to increase adherence for at-risk individuals in order to ensure their health and well-being.
