The symptoms of menopause may be very uncomfortable for many women, and those who experience vaginal dryness or itching often buy Premarin to relieve their discomfort. Recently, the pharmaceutical company Bionovo developed a treatment called Menerba, which could help treat hot flashes.
The drug recently entered Phase I of clinical testing, and positive results may enable it to enter the market and treat this common symptom of menopause in millions of women.
"We are pleased to announce that we are initiating the Phase I tolerability clinical trial," said Isaac Cohen, chairman and CEO of Bionovo. "Our goal is to define a full therapeutic window that matches or improves on currently approved menopausal hormone therapy drugs."
The trials will be conducted at three sites in California, where Menerba will be administered to a total of 40 postmenopausal women between the ages of 40 and 65. Researchers hope to determine the safety of the drug after three weeks of treatment.
Women who buy Premarin and other drugs to alleviate their menopausal symptoms may be able to save a significant amount of money by purchasing from a Canadian online pharmacy.
