Hypertension is a highly preventable condition that may be easily addressed with cheap medication from Canada, but it still poses a significant issue for employers all over the world. The ailment can be costly and often reduces the productivity of the workforce.
As a result, the Mid-America Coalition - an organization comprising nine Kansas City employers, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Thomson Reuters - has launched the Gateway Project, an initiative that is designed to combat the growing burden of high blood pressure.
"Employers aren't doing anything about hypertension because it's not as visible as other diseases, like cancer," said Frankie Hagen of Kansas University Hospital. "That is why the Gateway Hypertension Project is important."
High blood pressure accounted for more than $76 billion in healthcare costs and missed days of work last year in the U.S., according to data from the American Heart Association.
The project aims to educate employers and workers alike on how to prevent hypertension, as well as to emphasize the preventability of the condition through increased exercise and better nutrition.
By making smarter lifestyle choices and buying cheap medication from Canada to treat their condition, Americans may help reduce the prevalence of hypertension in the workforce.
