New formulations may improve quality of life for diabetics

Regardless of whether it is type 1 or type 2, patients who have diabetes know that the illness can negatively impact their quality of life. Although many treatment options are available through Canadian internet pharmacies, which offer significant discounts on these drugs, scientists continue to develop new strategies to help affected individuals better control their blood sugar.
For example, Biodel Incorporated has entered two new formulas into a Phase I clinical trial. These drugs, called BIOD-105 and BIOD-107, are designed to provide faster insulin action to patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The company anticipates quickly launching a second phase of testing, should the preliminary study result in success.
"We have identified two new formulations with commercial target product profiles that appear to be superior to any of our previous ultra-rapid-acting human insulin drug candidates," said Errol de Souza, president and CEO of Biodel. "We have accelerated the clinical development program and plan to initiate Phase I clinical testing this month."
He added that the company is hoping to begin Phase III testing as early as 2012, if the drugs prove to be effective.
Currently, patients with type 2 diabetes may purchase cheap medication from Canada to help them control their glucose levels. Doing so through a Canadian internet pharmacy may enable them to save money when acquiring these drugs.
