Canadian online pharmacies are a great resource for drugs to improve prostate health, which has become a growing concern among many older men in the U.S. Recently, a team of researchers at SRI International created a new treatment that may halt the development of prostate cancer before it has a chance to begin.
The drug candidate, which has not yet been named, works to stop cancerous cells from invading other tissues. By blocking tumor proliferation, progression and invasion, the treatment could help men who are at risk for the condition avoid developing it.
The remedy is based on a naturally occurring anti-cancer agent that is found in vegetables such as cabbage and broccoli. Scientists hope that because it contains these nutrients, it will be safer and cause fewer side effects compared to chemotherapy.
"Since cancer cells are able to develop diverse pathways for growth and cell survival, multi-target drugs and a network approach are the most beneficial to patients," said lead researcher Ling Jong. "We think this strategy can lead to safe and effective treatments that will improve quality of life and lower the mounting costs of drug development."
The American Cancer Society reports that there are 2 million men living with a diagnosis of prostate cancer in the U.S. today.
