Patients can reduce risk of stroke when they buy Plavix and consume plenty of omega-3s

Those who buy Plavix may be able to reduce their risk of experiencing a stroke or heart attack. They can further protect themselves by adopting a diet that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help lessen the severity of brain damage following an adverse cardiovascular event, according to a report published in the journal Stroke.
Lead authors Jasna Kriz and Frederick Calon reported that in a mouse model, rodents that had eaten plentiful omega-3 fatty acids experienced 25 percent less brain damage than those fed other diets.
The researchers saw a significantly lower concentration of inflammatory molecules. Conversely, they observed a greater number of compounds responsible for the activation of cell death.
"The consumption of omega-3s creates an anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective environment in the brain that mitigates damage following a stroke," Kriz explained. "It prevents an acute inflammatory response that, if not controlled, is harmful to brain tissue."
The scientists added that omega-3 fatty acids may be a relatively inexpensive and widely available preventative for individuals who want to optimize their well-being.
