Type 2 diabetes is a serious health condition, but many doctors say that it is manageable for patients who adhere to a nutritious diet, exercise and buy Actos to maintain optimal blood sugar control. Recently, Eli Lilly and Company and Amylin Pharmaceuticals announced that a drug called BYDUREON is being recommended for approval in Europe.
The powder, which is meant to be injected in combination with other oral therapies, has been praised by the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP). In clinical trials, the once-weekly dose resulted in better glycemic control among type 2 diabetics who had not had success with oral medications.
"The CHMP's positive opinion is a pivotal step toward marketing authorization for BYDUREON in Europe," said Enrique Conterno, president of Lilly Diabetes. "If approved, BYDUREON will offer patients [many benefits] in a once-weekly injection."
Extensive testing revealed that the treatment had positive effects in as little as one week after injection. Over a period of six months, BYDUREON resulted in statistically significant improvements in glycemic control, reducing A1C - a measure of average blood sugar - by up to 2 percent.
Patients who have type 2 diabetes may not only achieve better health, but also save a great deal of money by purchasing such products through a Canadian online pharmacy.
