There are several things that could help people prevent a heart attack, including proper diet and a prescription to buy Canadian Plavix.
There are several things that could help people prevent a heart attack, including proper diet and a prescription to buy Canadian Plavix. Physical activity has also been linked to better heart health, and a new worldwide study helps support this concept.
An international team of researchers from the U.S., Canada and Sweden compared the lifestyles of more than 10,000 first-time heart attack survivors and more than 14,000 healthy controls from 52 countries. Work-time activities were described as sedentary, walking at one level, walking uphill/lifting heavy objects or heavy physical labor. Leisure-time activities were categorized as sedentary or exercise that was mild, moderate or strenuous.
Information was also collected on the ownership of a car, TV, computer and other amenities.
Results showed that after adjusting for factors such as smoking and diet, light or moderate activity for work was associated with a reduction of heart attack risk by between 11 and 22 percent when compared to sedentary work. Furthermore, mild or moderate leisure activities were linked with risk reduction of 13 and 24 percent, respectively.
Surprisingly, heavy duty work was not associated with any decreased likelihood for heart attack. Other data suggested that owning both a car and a TV increased one's chance for a cardiac event by 27 percent when compared to ownership of neither good, as published in the European Heart Journal.
